Record Monet sells for $80.5m

A Monet water lily painting sold for $80.5m (£41m) at Christies in London makes it the most expensive sale of the artist's work. "Le Bassin aux Nympheas” had been expected to fetch £18-24m, but it the bidding ended far exceeding the previous Monet auction record of $41.5 million set in May.

$750m purchase makes French property most expensive house ever sold

Villa Leopolda, an impressive estate in Villefrance on the Côte d’Azur has sold to an unknown Russian billionaire. Rumours had circulated that Roman Abramovich had purchased the property, however this is now known not to be the case.
